BREAKING NEWS: Baton Rouge Police Arrest Protesters Who Were Legally Rallying On PRIVATE Property

Police just arrested protesters in Baton Rouge after a homeowner legally invited them to have a rally on her property.

The police should not have been permitted to step foot on the property, but they not only trespassed, they arrested dozens who were legally invited to rally on the private property.

A video clip of the mass arrest was posted by local CBS News correspondent David Begnaud. In it, we can clearly see that the woman who hosted the protest explained she was “stunned” when officers moved onto her private property and told protesters to disperse.

They had no legal right to do this, and put quite simply: the act was unconstitutional.

Immediately after the protesters began to leave her property – following the unlawful order – and moved onto sidewalks, officers began arresting them because they claimed the protesters were going to block the nearby interstate highway if they didn’t.

“I’m very upset,” the homeowner told CBS News. “I’m stunned at the behavior of police officers that utilized, from what I understand, the ability to take someone that I guess they targeted that was actually on the street, to bombard my yard and bombard my house.”

The private property protest had been peaceful and confined to the home-owner’s property for around 90 minutes.

The Daily Beast reports that when officers showed up in riot gear and began illegally moving in, many protesters scattered.

But the majority of protesters stayed and yelled at the officers that they were trespassing on private property.

But the police justified their illegal aggressive behavior by stating that it was legal since they had “probable cause” that the protesters had been planning to march down to the highway and form a blockade.

They said that a mass arrest on the private property would preempt this action as well as police blocking off the interstate ramps themselves, local news station WWLV reports.

Watch the videos of the police illegally disrupting the protest as well as the homeowner expressing their anger at the illegal police actions in the tweeted videos below.
